My name is Tricia Johnson. I am happy you've visited The Priscilla Principle website

and hope you will learn with me. 

The Priscilla Principle is a system of Bible study designed to encourage people to study the Bible

thoroughly and at their own pace.  I hope to build confidence in people's ability to search the Scriptures, like the Bereans, to see if what they are being taught is true. (Acts 17:10, 11)

 

I developed The Priscilla Principle by simply practicing the idea that I could study the Bible as well as any pastor or Bible teacher since I have the same Holy Spirit living in me. If you are a believer in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, this same Holy Spirit also lives in you. In-depth Bible study is not just for pastors and teachers, it is for every Christian, young, old, male or female. 

 

For years, I studied the Bible on my own, using the four steps outlined in this website. I would often go to a conference or retreat and hear the other pastor's wives talking about the latest Bible study book they'd found. I felt a tinge of jealousy at times because, raising eight children, we could not afford to buy those books. I felt like I was surely missing something. When a few kids grew up and our budget loosened up a bit, I bought a couple of those popular Bible study books.  I quickly learned that I wasn't missing a thing!  I went right back to my own inductive Bible study and there I have stayed.

 

 

 

One of the greatest compliments I ever received was being accused of being so committed to

God's Word that It appeared to be an Idol to me.
